Instagram’s New Marketing Tools

A few months ago, we set out to find you the best and most useful ways that a business can use everyone favorite photo sharing app, Instagram. Well, now we found a few things that we just had to share with you – there are now new business tools specifically for brands on Instagram!

Although thousands of brands are utilizing Instagram to interact with their customers and to show off their products and company culture, they all seemed to be running into one similar problem – timing. As I talked about in the last Instagram blog, timing for your Instagram posts really does play a crucial role in how many people then interact with your photo and how viral it will go. Without knowing the exact magical time to post a photo – how will brands ever know the impact of their pictures? Well, in order to help brands time their posts to when they know their customers are listening, Instagram now has account insight features. The account insights allow for businesses and brands to track their brand awareness on Instagram through receiving reports on the impressions, reach and engagement.

If you’re one of the 100 million active InstagramMichael Kors on Instagram users, you might have seen an ad or two pop up in your Instagram feed. While it was just being tested at first with a handful of power brands like Michael Kors, Lululemon and Burberry, it is now available to all businesses. Like account insights, users will also get an ad insights feature. Ad insights will allow users to track the performance of paid campaigns with brand analytics like impressions, reach, and frequency for each individual ad delivered to the target audience. In order to help marketing teams to collaborate on their ad campaign, Instagram is including features that will allow multiple users to “preview, save and collaborate” on post content.

Both the account insights and ad insights features will allow businesses and brands to learn more about the demographics that they are reaching. They will also give reports and overviews on the total comments and likes each individual post has received in order to help marketing teams decide the best way to replicate the success, find opportunities and get rid of the failures.

So account and ad insights are pretty cool features, but wait till you hear how Nordstrom and Target are now utilizing their Instagram account…

I think we can all say that we have seen a photo posted from our favorite brand but since Instagram doesn’t allow links, you then either forget about the product or have to go through the hassle of finding it on their website. Some companies, including Nordstrom, started tagging the photos with the product numbers for users to search, but that still wasn’t making the process easy enough and was frustrating consumers and marketers alike. Well, thanks to LIKE2BUY this will never be an issue again, at least for Nordstrom and Target customers. Now when Instagram users go on the Nordstrom or Target accounts, all you have to do is click the like2b.uy link in the bio section and it will take you will go through this process (below), ending on Nordstrom.com where you can simply press “add to cart.”

Pretty awesome right? Not to mention extremely dangerous for consumers like me who absolutely love Nordstrom and Target!
