Anthropologie, a retailer known for its exquisitely curated collections of clothing and home decor, approached SheerID in 2015 for assistance in protecting a back-to-school discount exclusively for teachers in the U.S. and Canada. By focusing their efforts on educators, Anthropologie differentiated its brand in the teacher market and demonstrated support of the people who teach our children.

Anthropologie implemented SheerID’s hosted teacher eligibility verification solution, which allowed them to move quickly and launch the limited time promotion without heavily involving their own web and tech teams. The customer experience begins on the front page of, where K-12 teachers and higher education faculty complete a basic Academic Service form. Upon success, verified educators receive a one time use coupon code and a link that redirects them back to the website. Using brand requirements from Anthropologie, SheerID matched the consumer experience and branding on the hosted page to the Anthropologie website for a completely seamless experience.

Because the discount is completely protected from fraud, Anthropologie is able to promote the offer prominently in all their marketing efforts for the back-to-school season. Based on the success of the 2015 promotion, Anthropologie also ran an exclusive back-to-school offer for teachers in 2016.
