In 2011, our founders saw an opportunity to help brands reach students with exclusive offers without requiring students to share sensitive information like a social security number or brands to risk experiencing the discount abuse that comes with using a .edu and or student ID to verify student status. To address this need, SheerID was created to leverage authoritative data sources to confirm eligibility for special offers. Brands could now engage directly with a diverse range of consumer communities worldwide, which quickly came to include educators, the military, healthcare workers, first responders, and hundreds of other groups.
Building on this success, we have evolved into the industry’s first Audience Data Platform (ADP) to verify, enrich, and append customer data—empowering marketers to create authentic, lasting connections with their high-value audiences.

Stephanie is SheerID’s CEO, and brings to the company 25 years of deep expertise in growing and scaling the teams and operations of dynamic, high-growth, SaaS and tech-enabled businesses. She has a proven track record of driving results and excellence for customers and shareholders, and is highly regarded for her ability to find win-win scenarios that increase business value and empower teams to achieve shared goals.
Stephanie also excels at creating transparent, human-centered cultures for employees. She drives change that positively impacts organizations through data analysis, active listening, clear communication, graceful adaptability, and a “get sh*t done” attitude.
David Shear co-founded SheerID in 2011. He is a highly collaborative leader whose expertise in business and people-first approach has helped build high-performing teams, drive sustainable growth, and establish the company as a leader in audience marketing.
As SheerID’s president, he has scaled the company from a startup to a global SaaS leader serving hundreds of the world’s leading brands. His extensive experience has enabled SheerID to expand internationally and extend its global network of data and strategic partners. His current responsibilities include leading corporate and business development and facilitating a values-driven company culture.
Rebecca has had a highly successful 25-year career steering sales, marketing, and customer success teams through exceptional growth. This rare trifecta of leadership experience has helped her scale B2B and B2C SaaS companies across functional, business, and geographic boundaries. To optimize revenue and build effective go-to-market strategies, she uses a data-driven approach to surface a deep understanding of a customer’s needs, and then translates those insights into growth and expansion plans that easily scale.
As the revenue leader, Rebecca creates demand for SheerID’s unique offerings and cultivates awareness of the value they provide to the world’s most admired brands.
Carter Lassy is SheerID’s chief product officer and brings to this role more than 20 years of experience in digital marketing, advertising, and ecommerce for B2B and B2C SaaS platforms. Carter has worked for several public and private companies like Experian, Verizon, EdgeCast and Cheetah Digital, serving customers from SMB through Enterprise.
His passion is developing innovative products and architectures for marketers and retailers with ambitious plans for leveraging their customer data to deliver exceptional experiences. He has managed large product and engineering organizations across the world, and loves to build productive teams while fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
Dave is SheerID’s CFO and has been a valued member of the company for four years. He oversees global accounting, finance, legal, information security and investor relations, and brings a wealth of experience from previous leadership roles at AWS Elemental, FinancialForce, Ernst & Young, and Zynga.
Throughout his 20+ year career, Dave has focused on building teams, processes, and systems that support high growth organizations, enable IPOs, and facilitate mergers and acquisitions. His collaborative leadership style fosters trust and accountability, and his financial acumen and strategic insight are helping to drive SheerID’s development of new products and expansion into new markets.
Laura joined SheerID as its Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing to the company 30 years of experience in human resources, organization consulting, business operations/administration, and global operator roles. She has extensive expertise in the enterprise SaaS software, technology, and IT industry, and a proven track record of leading global HR teams that foster high-performance cultures.
Laura is highly skilled at helping businesses achieve ambitious goals while also supporting the employees who make those achievements possible. She is a certified executive coach, a lifelong learner, and a highly proficient facilitator who enjoys working with diverse and talented people.
